The million did not come from one large donor. It came from women who each gave one hundred dollars, four times a year, and kept showing up, in person or by proxy.

Every quarter, one room of women funds one nonprofit. Here is what that has looked like.
Every chapter is led by a volunteer. She finds the venue, welcomes the guests, greets the nonprofits, and makes sure the check gets where it belongs.
Nine chapters. Nine women. One mission.
“Creating space for women who have more in their lives to take action on behalf of women who have less.”
Less is never only about money. It means less resources, less opportunity, fewer connections, less access to hospitals, clinics, or clean water, and fewer laws that protect women.
In April 2015, founder Debra Dion Krischke sent one email to her mailing list and asked women to meet her at a hotel in Cranberry. About twenty came. They raised $1,700 that night.

Once a quarter, for about an hour. Members, guests, and nonprofits serving women and girls, all in one room.
Three nominations are pulled from the hat and have five minutes each to say who they serve and how our funding would help. No slides required, just speaking from the heart.
Members vote. The winning nonprofit receives one hundred percent of what the room gave that night.

Debra heard that question during a Rasa Healing reading several years after Inspired Women began, and put it in her signature that same day. It is the perfect question, because everyone wants to believe they can make a difference. This network exists to hand them the opportunity.
